We can use emails for many things, but it is important that we do it properly! Watch Room 5's movie that they created with Miss Kyla to help learn how to send emails in the right way.

Student Council 2014
Today at a whole school assembly, our amazing Student Council for 2014 were presented with their shiny, new badges. Mrs Kelly and Mrs Fepuleai presented the students with badges reading 'Student Council.' Our council members will wear these proudly around the school so students and staff can identify them easily. Congratulations to all our council members! We can't wait to see what you achieve as a team this year.

Room 8's Trip to North Head
Today, Room 8 bused into the city, caught a ferry AND walked to North Head to see the Historic Reserve as part of our studies on ANZAC. It was an amazing day and we saw so many interesting things. For some students, it was their first time on a ferry! We look forward to applying our learning from our trip into our classroom learning for the rest of this term. Thank you to the parents who helped us get there and back safely!

Year 8 Students Visit Tamaki College
On Thursday of Week 5 our Year 8 students had the amazing opportunity to participate in a 'transition day' at Tamaki College. They got to experience first hand, what going to college feels like. Students were put into mixed classes with Year 8 students from others schools around our community and moved around as real college students would, from English, Maths and Food Technology, to Business Studies, Social Studies and Science. It was a great day and we look forward to returning in Term 3 for the next transition day!

Kapa Haka 2014
Yesterday was the first practice for our Kapa Haka 'Performance Group.' We are so lucky this year to have Whaea Salena and Matua Wiremu helping out with the group! Yesterday we started learning the Lord's Prayer Waiata. The group were so quick to pick it up and sounded beautiful. We can't wait for next week's practice!
